Grand Adventures in State Parks

As we celebrate 100 years of Texas State Parks, we’re introducing a side quest to the Great Outdoor Scavenger Hunt. We call it Grand Adventures in State Parks (or GASP!). While it would be impossible to cover everything that state parks offer, we’ve highlighted seven activities accessible to all ages and skill levels that showcase the best of what Texas has to offer. You’ll find a different adventure highlighted for each region of Texas, but completion of these adventures can be done at almost any park across the state (we say almost, as not every park has water for fishing, splashing or paddling). To complete the GASP! challenge, follow the selfie instructions for each category with the understanding that the journey is more important than the destination.
