The Art of Fish
Wildlife Forever’s Fish Art Contest gives kids a chance to learn about fish through the creation of art. This year’s 767 Texas entries include Guadalupe Bass (pictured) from fourth-sixth grade winner Grace Cao, who also won second place nationally in her category. The program encourages K-12 students to submit artwork of any officially designated state fish and an essay or poem about the fish, its habitat or efforts to conserve it. The top 12 works of Texas art will be featured at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center and in the 2022 Texas Fish Art Calendar.
