WHERE IN TEXAS?

This quirky staircase zigzags up a hill in one of Texas’ largest urban parks. Its 88 steps provide Central Texas residents with quite a workout. The stairs were originally built in 1963 to replace an aging ladder that led from a family’s property at the top of the bluff to the river below.

If you recognize this site, send us a note at Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine, 4200 Smith School Road, Austin, TX 78744 (write “Where in Texas?” on the envelope); email us at magazine@tpwd.texas.gov; or let us know on Facebook. We’ll reveal the answer in a future issue.
