WHERE IN TEXAS?
Before it was a county park, this oasis in the Big Bend region was a U.S. Army outpost, home to Buffalo Soldiers in the 1800s. Before that, it was a regular stop for Native American tribes thanks to the supply of water from the perennial springs. Surrounded by cottonwood trees, this park is a prime spot for picnicking and bird-watching.
