Give Back to the Parks You Love
This year marks 100 years of Texas State Parks, and all Texans and invited to join in the celebration at parks across the state.
In addition to celebrating the past, the 100-year anniversary is about looking ahead to the next century. As Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s official nonprofit partner, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) has kicked off a Centennial Fundraising Campaign to raise funds for priority projects at all state parks across Texas.
TPWF’s fundraising effort aims to raise $2 million for equipment and visitor enhancements at all 89 state parks. Projects include dark sky viewing equipment at Davis Mountains State Park, a life-size dinosaur skull replica at Dinosaur Valley State Park, a pontoon boat for marsh tours at Sea Rim State Park, water bottle filling stations, search and rescue equipment and more.
Donations are being matched dollar for dollar, up to $1 million, thanks to the foundation’s Centennial Champions, including the Fondren Foundation, John M. O’Quinn Foundation and Elkins Foundation. There’s an enhancement project at every state park, and you can make a gift to the park closest to your home or heart at TexasParks100.org.
For 100 years, our state parks have been places of awe and discovery. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation hopes to keep them that way for future generations of Texas.
