WHERE IN TEXAS?

Each of this year’s Where in Texas? photos features a picnic shelter at a state park. Can you guess the park? Travelers in the 1800s stopped here to buy supplies and fortify themselves for the rest of their journeys. What’s new? People still stop here for a picnic and a chat, but now they can enjoy a tour of historical buildings, too. It’s very close to another, much larger park.

If you recognize this site, send us a note at Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine, 4200 Smith School Road, Austin, TX 78744 (write “Where in Texas?” on the envelope); email us at magazine@tpwd.texas.gov; or let us know on Facebook. Feel free to tell us a story about your relationship with the location, too. We’ll reveal the answer in a future issue.
