Northeast of Dallas is a small park filled with natural beauty. At Bonham State Park, you’ll find a serene 65-acre lake, hilly trails, colorful history and a quiet place to relax.
Bring the family and spend the day or the weekend! Explore the park in a variety of ways:
Camping
Choose from 20 campsites ranging from full hookups to tent sites with water and electricity. Or book our group camp, with six sites for up to 50 people. Restrooms with showers are across from headquarters.
Hiking and biking
Explore 8.75 miles of trails, open to hikers and bikers: Visit our Trails Information page.
Learn about the park’s plant life on the easy 1.3-mile Lake Loop Trail. Or explore the CCC’s legacy on the challenging 2.7-mile Bois d’Arc Trail.
Fishing
Drop a line in the 65-acre Bonham State Park Lake. Bring your own gear or borrow ours (line and pole only). You’ll need to provide your own bait.
We have a fishing pier and boat ramp. The lake has a 5-mph speed limit.
Paddling
Bring your own watercraft or rent one of ours. We rent paddle boats, kayaks and canoes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
If you plan to swim or paddle, read through our water safety tips.
Groups
Reserve a group site for your next reunion or retreat.
Choose from two options for overnight stays. Our barracks with group hall and kitchen can hold up to 94 people; up to 50 people can stay at our group camp.
Reserve the pavilion for a daytime gathering of up to 75 people.
