Casa Navarro

This state historic site preserves the former adobe and limestone home of José Antonio Navarro (1795-1871), a prominent Tejano statesman, merchant and rancher. Navarro was an influential political figure during the momentous years when Texas’ destiny was forged.

Crowds gather to watch the launch of the Texas Water Safari

Texas Water Safari (BONUS)

The Texas Water Safari is the world’s toughest canoe race, running 260 miles from San Marcos to Seadrift. For a bonus entry, head to the Meadows Center in San Marcos or other places along the San Marcos River on the morning of June 13 and cheer the competitors on.
