WHERE IN TEXAS

The Civilian Conservation Corps built a small earthen dam and an impressive three-level masonry spillway in the 1930s at this 528-acre state park south of Fort Worth. The area’s white rocky hills — covered with juniper, oak and mesquite trees — and the beautiful valley of natural springs stamped this as a picturesque setting for a park.
